At the June, 2010 annual meeting, the congregation voted to approve the following resolution:

We, the members of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Binghamton, recognize the need to join with others to bring forth a sustainable society based on respect for our planet and all of its life-giving resources. Accordingly, we request that our Green Sanctuary Committee apply to the UUA for our congregation to become accredited as a Green Sanctuary. Furthermore, we make the following ongoing commitments:

To further integrate the Seventh Principle - respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part - into our worship services, celebrations, and religious education programs.

To continually strive to have a net positive impact on the environment, both as a congregation and in our personal lives.

To encourage our local, regional, and world communities to do the same.
