Climate Change Is No Longer a Threat
That was true 20 years ago. Now, climate change is a severe problem that
is growing worse every year. A report
prepared by the Global Humanitarian Forum led by former UN Secretary-General
Kofi Annan estimates that climate change is already killing 300,000 people a
year. It is also a moral issue. Although climate change affects all of us,
the first hit and worst affected are the world’s poorest groups who have done
the least to cause the problem. So what
to do? Although it is too late to avoid
this problem, it is not too late to help make it less severe. See Mother Earth Needs Your Help
for suggestions on how you can make a difference.
